Nigeria calls up 32 players for Angola 2010

The Nigeria Football Federation has named 32 players who would justify their inclusion into the final 23-man squad for Angola 2010 African Cup of Nations which takes place from January 10th to January 31st, 2010.
The team has set up camp in Durban, South Africa and is expected in Angola on January 8 for the tournament.

Here is the list of players.

Goalkeepers (5)
Vincent Enyama(Hapoel Tel Aviv), Bamidele Aiyenugba(Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv FC), Austin Ejide(SC Bastia), Greg Etafia (Moroka Swallows) and Bassey Akpan(Bayelsa United FC now on loan @ Heartland FC).

Defenders (11)
Taye Taiwo(Marseille), Joseph Yobo (Everton), Elderson Echiejile(Rennes), Ayodele Adeleye(Sparta Rotterdam), Danny Shittu(Bolton Wanderers), Obinna Nwaneri(FC Sion), Onyekachi Apam(OGC Nice), Chidi Odiah(CSKA Moscow), Chibuzor Okonkwo(Heartland), Yusuf Mohammed(FC Sion) and Olubayo Adefemi(CSKA Moscow).

Midfielders (9)
Dickson Etuhu(Fulham), Sanni Keita(Lokomotiv Moscow), Bartholomew Ibenegbu, Oluwaseyi Olofinjana (Hull City), Mikel Obi(Chelsea), Nwankwo Kanu(Portsmouth), Yusuf Ayinla(FC Dynamo Kyiv), Kalu Uche(Almeria) and Olufemi Ajilore(FC Groningen).

Strikers(7)
Osaze Odemwingie(Lokomotiv Moscow), Obafemi Martins(Wolfsburg), Chinedu Obasi(1899 Hoffenheim), Micheal Eneramo(Espérance Sportive de Tunis), Joseph Akpala(Club Brugge), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (Everton) and Obinna Nsofor(Internazionale now on loan @Malaga CF).

In what would be a worrying situation for Nigeria, quite a number of the players on the list are either injured or just recovering from injury. It is hoped that before the tournament starts, most of them would be fit to play.

Nigeria plays their first game against defending champions,Egypt, in a crunch encounter at the Ombaka Stadium in Benguela.
