Amr Zaki’s career with Zamelek is all but ended. The Egyptian club has placed the former Wigan athletic striker on transfer due to his absence from training. The striker reported to have missed training for five consecutive days without explanation.

“We are open to offers for Zaki. Any worthy offer will be accepted,” Zamalek board member Hazem Emam told local media.

“The club can no longer bear such actions. Missing training for several days without giving any explanation is an inexplicable action from a professional player like Zaki.”

“The player should have informed the technical staff of his intent to skip training. We don’t want any problems in the team.”

The Head coach, Hossam Hossan, said he couldn’t reach the 26-year-old, who had switched off his mobile phone.

Zaki was one the notable players of the Egypt squad that won the African Cup in Ghana two years ago.

Amr Zaki is back at Zamelek. He played his first game for Zamelek on his return when he came as substitute in a match against Tersana. Before that however he had an unsuccessful time on loan at Hull City.
