Togo’s participation in Angola 2010, African Cup of Nations appears to have to come to an end. According to RMC radio, The national football team has pulled out from the competition. The team has arrived at the airport to depart to Togo.

On Friday, at least six people were injured after unidentified gunmen ambushed a coach carrying team in Angola’s troubled oil-rich territory of Cabinda. Those hurt included two players and some officials of the entourage.

Meanwhile the Confederation of African Football, CAF, had earlier confirmed that the competition will go ahead while it investigates the incident.

The Togo team are the only team to travel to Cabinda by road. “CAF’s regulations are clear, teams are required to fly rather than travel by bus,” added the director.

We wait to see the reaction of CAF on Togo’s decision and its effect on the competition.
