Benin surrenders 2 goal lead – African Cup of Nations: Benin 2-2 Mozambique

January 12, 2010

The Mambas of Mozambique this evening held the Squrriels of Benin to a 2 – 2 draw in an African Cup of Nation Group C thriller.

The Squirrels took the lead in the 13th minute through a spot-kick which was expertly converted by danger-man, Razak Omotoyossi. 6 minutes after, Mozambique defender, Dario Khan in an attempt to clear a lose ball in the area scored an own goal under pressure.

Mozambique took the game to the Squirrels and a header by Lobo brought them back into into action in the 16th minute. Back from recess, it was the Mozambicans who looked more threatening. Carlos Goncalves was the second goal hero as he shot into the net after his team mate set him up from a quick throw.

Match report to follow.
